A poker tournament with nice value

Cardlovers Open is playing again this Sunday 28/2. A €1 buy-in tournament with €1,000 guaranteed in the prize pool, so pretty sick nice considering there not more than 100 players in the poker tournament.

The tournament also includes a leader board for every season. If you are lucky enough to win the leader board you get to qualify for the Grand Final with an EPT – package on the line. Total 4 seats are awarded during the year. On seat has already been rewarded to one of the members on Cardlovers. So don’t be late to register for season 2.

Heavy snow is reported in Sweden. Trains, busses and traffic in general or late or not working at all. Pretty sick imo. Considering winter comes once a year in Sweden, hehe.

Meeting with Betsafe

Lovers crew went for a meeting yesterday with Betsafe. Usually these meeting are over a dinner…. And some drinks, a lot of drinks actually. Because it’s somehow more sociable and relaxing, hehe.

We started out at Hugos Tapas with some nice food and drinks. After that it was “official beer day” at Bar Native and later on Hugos Passion. And with beer I guess you usually drink Jägermeister… A lot of Jägermeister, hehe. But it was all a lot of fun from what I can remember.

What I don’t do for my work, hehe.

The Expekt Player race on Cardlovers is still sick, sick sick nice. Did I mention sick nice? The guy who has raked the most is up at $35 after half the race month. If the current standing stands, he will cash in on $1,400… Sweet! So I can’t believe that people aren’t playing it. Probably people are thinking it’s too good to be true or something. LOL!

Ducy by David Sklansky and Alan Shoonmacher

Just got an e-mail from twoplustwo that David Sklansky and Alan Shoonmacher is publishing a new book called “DUCY?”. “DUCY?” will be out in stores and also sold in the TwoPlusTwo store.

(DUCY? = Do you see why?)

When I was reading the synopsis I got really excited by this part:

“You will probably feel the same way by seeing how creatively combining math, logic, psychology, and probability theory can solve problems you might have previously regarded as unsolvable. Your ability to identify and even manipulate other people’s thoughts and desires should improve, as well as your ability to understand and resist other experts who attempt to do the same thing. And this book will almost certainly put money in your pocket.”

David Sklansky is writing on his TwoPlusTwo weblog about the blog:

“Hopefully the book will be judged similar to poker books. Namely if only a few important things are learned it was well worth the price of the book.”

Expekt the unexpected

Cardlovers is hosting a sick nice player race for their Expekt poker players. It’s an $8,000 player race and there is just a few players signed-up , but they are almost not playing at all at the moment.

I remember Expekt Poker as the first poker site that I played with real money on. A nice experience from the site, with some really fast games and it was back in the days when Expekt still was hosted on the PRIMA network. Also they had some nice freerolls with just a few competitors and it was easy for a student to make a nice buck just playing some of those.

Nowadays Expekt is based on the popular iPoker Network, which has one of the biggest turn-over of players from around the world. And they are also have some nice promotions both for sit-n-go players, tournament players and cash game players. Cardlovers is hosting a $8,000 Player Race there this month with some wicked value. So if you are planning to test a new site, this is recommended.

London by night

It has been over a week now since I came back from London. I had a really interesting time. Learn a lot from going. But man was it tiring. A lot of meetings during the day and then “socializing” with people out on the club during the night.

We partied at Jealous and White China Room going VIP style. Pretty nasty bills at the end of the night. But hey. No very often you do that… or?

Had the chance to see both Scotty Nyguen and Antonio Esfandiari. It was really cool. I had already seen Doyle Brunson. But that was cool to see him once again.

Poker London

London baby! Yes, finally! Next week I’m going to jolly old England for the Casino and Poker conference. I will be staying at Tower hotel in central London and attend the conference, were I will be meeting up some of the biggest poker rooms in the business. This is going to be so sweet, indeed!

Meanwhile there are tons of stuff to do at work and also I´m looking at a new apartment here on Malta. But I think I found a really good one that I can call home at least for a year ahead of me. Cross my fingers that it’s worth it.

So a lot of fun things going on this week.

Poker King – the movie

Poker King is a new poker movie filmed and based in Macao, China. The poker movie is starring top Chinese actors Louis Koo, Sean Lau Ching-Wan. I’m really excited about the see Poker King. Not only because It’s a poker movie, but also I´m a fan of Asian movies. The story is about two poker playing rivals who compete in tournaments for championship glory.

Prioritize

Sometimes I think I need to focus more on things that I really need to improve or want to accomplish. There are sometimes too many things that are occupying the mind. I want to this I want to do that. But thinking and doing too many things is like juggling too many motor saws. It´s like you going to cut yourself really bad in the end.

But one thing that can help balancing multiple things is planning ahead. See what’s most important. What need to be done and then just do it. Like this weekend I´m planning to play poker. No parties or nothing. Just poker and work. Indeed.

Ballbreaker in Stockholm

Today I´m off to play some bowling with some of the members of Cardlovers in Stockholm. It´s gonna be a lot of fun indeed. See if I can show off my skills in bowling ^^

Waking up this morning I felt I was low on energy. So much things I was going to do, not just today, but the whole year. Okay, its Saturday… So it should be okay to be a little bit lazy, but that doesn’t add up to a positive EV, in the long run. Like being passive on all the street, hoping that some other guy would bet all the streets and me just limping to the river and winning. Don’t work that well in poker and not in real life either.

Okay. Wish me luck, I´m off. See if I can upload som pics.
